Hits what my A&P text misses. This book is much more thorough. Due to ADHD, I sometimes get psychological roadblock when I study a text, so it's nice to be able to mix things up and read the same subjects with a different view and more pics of cells than in my A&P book. The pics are awesome and very helpful. I wouldn't recommend it if you've never cracked open a bio or human bio book. It's got a ton of info, enough for a novice to get overwhelmed. I would have. I also recommend histology guide on the webs too. It's very handy and easy to use with this book. I would still recommend this book over the web alone because it explains what you're seeing in the guide better and in greater detail than my A&P book would. If I knew then what I know now, I could get away with this book and/or Costanzo's physiology and the internet for anatomy or a dedicated anatomy book(Netter's looks pretty good to me) for an undergrad A&P. My Marieb A&P book cost me 300. This plus Netter's 70 dollar Anatomy book and Costanzo's 45 dollar physiology is certainly doable, more thorough, and much cheaper.

This book is very well written, it is full of details, images and slides. The topics have clear and concise summaries that allow you to readily understand what the following section of text is about very well. All chapters I've read so far are clearly delimited. Mind you: I don't even speak english natively, but, in my opinion, this book is amazong, period.The fact it is deep and detailed should not discourage you. This book actually _saved_ me time, to the point I barely spend time studying histology yet having good grades. I manage to save time to apply to other (harder, IMHO) subjects like gross anatomy and biochemistry just by reading this book.Leagues ahead of Gartner or Junqueira and a must have, in my humble opinion. I can't thank the author enough for writing this.

Wow! I bought this book a couple of months ago, but just got around to opening it up last night to study for a histology test. I expected to find a slew of labelled photomicrographs to review, but this book is actually so much more! It is really an anatomy, physiology and histology text all in one - and it is done very very well.The book is divided into 24 chapters, with chapters by system, tissue type, basic cell biology as well as tissue/slide preparation. Each chapter covers the anatomy and physiology of the system or tissue in question extremely well. The text gets right to the point, but is still very complete in its explanations. Within each paragraph, key words are bolded in red, so you can quickly find the exact topic you are interested in within a subject. All topics are supplemented with fully labelled light and electron photomicrographs of each structure, tissue and cell. Illustrations also accompany a majority of the micrographs to clarify things.All illustrations and micrographs are thoroughly labelled. Within text pictures are typically 1/4 to 1/2 page in size, and each chapter has its own set of full-page color plates for even better up-close visualization and study. The full-page color photomicrographs at the end of each chapter are fully labelled, but go even further than that with exact descriptions of each label on the opposing page. This is really amazing, because, for instance, on a slide of the kidney that I was studying, not only were the proximal and distal tubules and collecting ducts labelled, there were also accompanying descriptions on the opposing page as to why one was different from another in these very similar looking structures. With labels alone I would have had a difficult time identifying these structures on my own slides, but with the added description accompanying each label as to why one was slightly different from another, I can now easily pick out the nuances of each that differentiate them.An added plus are the clinical correlations (several per chapter) as well as online access to the book with a special "scratch-off" code inside the front cover. I also like that chapters have a color strip and subject title (e.g. ovary) down the lateral margin of each page; this makes it extremely easy to find the section/topic you are looking for by simply thumbing the pages versus having to look in the table of contents to find the chapter/page for the system you are after.Note that the book does have a soft cover, so if you are going to be carrying it around with you, you'll want to put a plastic laminate on it to protect it. The pages themselves are all in full-color on high quality, semi-gloss stock. Total pages are 974 and the book itself is just a bit over 1 inch thick.Overall, this is a really an amazing book! You could definitely use it as a basic physiology text in addition to being your histology reference source and learning guide. There are so many features in this book that have been well thought out that the authors and publishers really should be applauded for -- the in-text bolding of key words, the subject strips down the side of each page for easy thumbing, but especially for the excellent photomicrographs, labelling and explanations of each cell type and structure. Well done and highly recommended! Worth far more than the sub-$100 price being charged!

Love this book! Would give 5 (vs 4) stars, but goodness takes time to read. In a way, of course, this just means the problem's entirely mine (should be faster, better reader). As it is, though, prefer more pictures, including lots of photos, various magnifications. In short, great text -diminished a star by my personal limitations.

This review is specifically for the *Kindle version.* It is HORRIBLY formatted; there are line breaks where there shouldn't be, no spaces were there should be, paragraph headings look like regular paragraph text, and navigating between a picture being discussed and the text is horrendous, in large part due to lack of links. For some reason, this book is missing features to explain what page of the printed book corresponds to what you are reading, making school-assigned sections rather difficult.As far as the context itself, it's pretty good. There are a number of things that could be clearer - I usually keep wikipedia in the background to quickly lookup key phrases. Incidentally, the authors know what phrases are important because they are all in bold, but not all of them are defined.Here is a good example of all of the above problems. (Phrases between *asterisks* are bolded in the text; otherwise the following is formatted exactly how it appears):The ANS is further subdivided into a *sympathetic division* and a *parasympathetic division*. A third division of ANS, the *enteric division* , serves the alimentary canal.Besides the problematic formatting, the book doesn't explain what sympathetic and parasympathetic are, despite putting both phrases in bold font to indicate their apparent importance in understanding histology.

This histology book presented information clearly and in a logical progression. The images are very helpful in identifying the structures in histological slides in the lab. The functions listed are also very helpful in understanding the physiological processes that happen within the different tissues and organ systems.

This book is a romance, but it's more. There is some suspense as well as police drama. There is a bit of mystery, too, because why not? There were moments of tenderness for Cam and Nic and their relationship is on solid ground throughout this book. Oh, they get jealous. (And rightfully so.) But you know this is 'it' for them both.There were some surprises for Nic in this book, and things from his past come charging in to his present. Some of those things did surprise me and I liked that. I also liked that some of the secondary characters are a little more fleshed out now, and perhaps they will have their own stories in the future - hint, hint, Eddie perhaps? Or Garrett? Eddie and Nicolette....that'd be sweet. Anyway, I'm a bit sad it's over but I am very glad I happened upon Agents Irish and Whiskey back when I did since it led me here, and to this author.

Cam and Nic have found a place in my heart! Action, suspense, intrigue, create the amazing finale to this awesome Trouble Brewing series! I was so wow'd by their connection in this book, these guys are really combining their energy and have created an unstoppable team.The story-line was outstanding and all the questions from the previous books are answered. I felt really satisfied with the ending in that i understood where all the lines of plot had been going.I loved seeing the friends of Cam and Nic come together Iand as a team they took down the bad guys. The investigation was interesting and i loved that they got to kick some a**.This is not a stand-alone book and should be read in order. The Trouble Brewing Series is really worth reading and i know you will enjoy it!!!

Layla Reyne became a favorite author of mine thanks to the Irish &Whiskey series. Jamie and Aidan are one of my favorite OTPs. She has followed that series up with one that is just as awesome, the Trouble Brewing series. Nic and Cam are as amazing, sexy, intense, funny, and loving as Jamie and Aidan! This third book in the series did a wonderful job of bringing everything, and everyone in their families, together. It tied up all the lose ends and the ending, which I have to say I am NOT ready to say goodbye to these two!!, was perfect. I do have to ask though....do Eddie and Garrett get a story?! I do hope we get to visit with Cam and Nic in the future, maybe a short story, maybe they appear in some future books. They do deserve their HEA!!

Cam and Nic are doing their best to make their relationship work. But life keeps getting in the way. So close to nailing the bad guy and his mole(s). Discovering that the two of them together make things happen and that with their trusted friends and colleagues they are unstoppable.Nic and Cam finally get their happy ending. Not without bad guys, intrigue, a little blood, a dead father, and a family found. Cam creates the perfect brew for his man in what I’m assuming is the final book of this series. The two of them together work, although I felt that their relationship was secondary in this book. I’m not against action at all, I just would of liked more one on one time with them. I did enjoy their story.

I read this book in one sitting, it was an emotional, intense ride from the very first page to the last. This author has a magnificent way of telling you a story and sucking you right into the world she has created. I'll tell you I was on the anxiety train the whole time I was reading this book! Oh my gosh what a wonderful ride it was though.You definitely, definitely need to read all three books in this series and I highly recommend the Wiskey and Irish series first just to get to know all the players in this book plus it's freaking amazing as well!!You will not be disappointed, if you're a fan of romantic suspense these books are for you!

But I love Nic and Cam so much! I think though that you Layla, could have pumped out at least 2 more books on these boys. Love, Intrigue, Suspence, Murder and all the juicy stuff all rolled into three very short books kind of make my head spin! That being said I was over the moon with all of our other agents front and center in this fast paced ending and the very happy ending. Nic got every thing that he deserved and Cam made it all possible! Can't wait to see what new story line you will come up with next, will we focus on F.B.I.? C.I.A? AG office? What ever it is.... well BRING IT ON! I am ready!

Layla Reyne has done something you don’t often see... she has improved on perfection. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but you will love it even more if you read the first two books in the series first. Highly recommended.

I have been waiting for this book since November of last year and I just finished the audio book and it was worth the wait! Loved that while Nic and cam had their relationship issues they were able to stay an united front. And the ending... Ha... So worth all of the wait!

This is a choose your own adventure book. I used this book to read to third grade children and allowed them to choose the action at various points in the story and then read from the appropriate page. The page set up is a little confusing and the skipping around does not keep the story moving seamlessly. The children enjoyed the story.

Great book. My kids loved it. All of Anson Montgomery’s books are worth the purchase.

These are a great way way to mix up the reading routine! Keeps kids interested!

I had high hopes for this book. The author is a veteran military officer, consultant, and holds a university position in management apparently. What he isn't is historian, archeologist, or academic. He makes a good case showing an understanding of the limitations of dark age armies, but forgets most of his own conclusions once he gets in to his argument. He correctly defines the limitations of the few primary sources from the period, but then happy uses them as if the were without problems. Essentially, he argues that you can trace the Ango-Saxon conquest of Britian in a series of dykes built across the landscape. He considers all such structures from the dark age. The problem is they aren't. He includes everything from the bronze age to 1552 C.E. as part of this great war. He talks of the British army and Saxon army as if they were great centralized forces moving across the landscape. They weren't. This is complicated by his lack of sources. Nothing is footnoted nor does he bother to explain the grounds he has for calling a border dyke from 1552 a defensive structure from the seventh century. It is a shame with more work he may have had something useful to add to this interesting subject.

This is one of those few history books that will change the way you look at history. Mr Storr got very interested in ditches and has come up with what is almost an strategic history of the Anglo-Saxon conquest of England. Storr's reading of sources, combined his with analysis of place names, combined with his analysis of still existing remains of earthen fortifications in England, informed by his service as an Army officer, has produced a fascinating theory on how Romano-British and Anglo-Saxons may have used palisaded ditch and banks as in intergral part of 'Dark Age" warfare in Britain to control ground, guard invasion routes and even to secure conquests. This is very well argued book, and deserves a wide audience.I read the kindle edition, but recommend getting the physical book as you'll want to study the maps Storr has prepared closely.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The author is an ex-British Army officer, and the book is mostly about him looking at the dykes and earthworks erected in Dark Age Britain and using them, together with place names and other features of the terrain, to piece together a coherent picture of what the Anglo-Saxon conquest of England may have looked like. I am not an expert in this area, and neither is the author, but I think that he presented a good case for the conquest taking longer than many mainstream historians believe it did. I have read Anglo-Saxon England by Sir (Frank?) Stenton, and a book in the Men-at-Arms series that I bought when I was a teenager living in England called Arthur and the Anglo-Saxon Wars, and I think it is an interesting period. This book had the additional charm of mentioning places I have been in England - my dad was stationed at RAF Lakenheath and RAF Upper Heyford in the 1980s, flying F-111s, and we lived at both RAF Bicester and RAF Upper Heyford when we were stationed at RAF Upper Heyford - both Bicester and Upper Heyford are mentioned in the book. I have to admit that, in all the time I lived in England, I never saw a Dark Age earthwork - at least, not to know it at the time. No-one even recommended that we should go see the Devil's Dyke when we lived in East Anglia the first time we were stationed in England, although we went to Cambridge and Ely and lots of other places nearby. But I still highly recommend this book. The British (and at least some of my ancestors appear to have been Welsh, Cecil originally being a Welsh surname from what I understand - although apparently not based on Caecilius, which I originally thought, and which would have been cool. Oh well) may have been conquered, pushed into Wales and Cornwall, or chased away to Brittany, but they went down fighting! And digging.

History from Geography, or Trench Warfare 600AD. I was awed by the author's intense research and logic in effectively (at least on his own terms) deducing the military/political of Dark Ages England from a few questionable texts and the evidence of defensive (and offensive) trenches dug during those times. He walked the ground and listened to what it had to say - including place names that go back to those times and describe what conditions were by their implications.One star off for information overload. The work isn't badly organized, it's just that the same sort of things kept happening over and over for half a milenium and they can run together in the reader's mind. Best are the "Aha!" moments when the author suddenly understands why a Roman engineer or his semi-trained Anglo-Saxon successor put *that* particular kink in the road or trench system.And, yes, he knows exactly where Camelot was. And is.

I'd recommend it for someone who is curious to learn about blockchain; but it's too high level for anyone wanting to actually *use* a blockchain or have an intelligible technical conversation about it. There's a *lot* of repeated content throughout the book, and precious little in the way of detail. The book certainly doesn't shy away from the blockchain buzzwords concomitant with much of the literature on this hot new area, and frequently uses them without even attempting to explain or define them.The book is plagued by numerous minor editorial issues, some probably unique to the Kindle edition, others shared by the physical copy. The errors are easy enough to overlook and, for the most part, do not affect the comprehensibility of the content (though there are some inaccuracies in the technical chapter)..

I really wanted to like this book, but once I opened the amazon package I noticed how thin the "ultimate guide" was. It is indeed informative for a novice but lacks the technical dept I was looking for. Perhaps I failed victim of the title, as I expected the "ultimate guide" to be deep and information heavy.It is informative, but not what I was looking for.

This book is chock full of information, albeit mostly technical---but relatively easy to understand. Cryptocurrency is here to stay, in my opinion. And this book discusses Blockchain technology that isn't a 'coin' per se, but rather the technology that enables cryptocurrency to do what it does. This talks about the future of money in an indirect way. Stay abreast, read this book.

Overall the was a good read, it went over the basic building blocks of the blockchain not technical at all minus the last chapter but still readable. After all is said a done I would recommend this book. Giving me the confidence to be in a conversation and not feel lost.

Haven't seen a book like this one. Exactly what it says Ketogenic Homemade Icecream. Easy to follow directions and each of the recipes had pictures. The nutritional facts were very helpful as well. One of my favorites is the choco-chip with vanilla bean. I don't add the salt like it calls for in the recipe and it still tasted great! The cherry bomb was also delicious. It was a good read and I definitely recommend to any newcomer to the keto diet​.

Finally, ice cream that my whole family loves. I have been trying low carb (Keto) ice cream recipes since I started this diet in October. No luck until Elizabeth Jane's book. The Strawberry is to die for and I'm finally using my ice cream maker again. Thanks so much

Now I'm finally interested in using an ice cream maker I got for a gift years ago. Low carb ice cream is seldom available in stores, and is expensive unless on sale. It helps me stay on my low carb diet, the only one that allowed me to lose weight, and I intend to keep it off!

I wanted to write a review because when I got this I was surprised at how it is more like a pamphlet than a book. That initially made me feel swindled. HOWEVER, it is not disappointing because it is full color pictures of recipe after recipe, with no fluff and beautifully laid out.

It was more of a “booklet” than a book. Judging by the marketing materials, I thought it was going to give some “base” models for standard ice cream flavors and then laid out options to modify or make substitutions. It was literally just 20 random ice cream recipes of no higher quality than google. And there’s no explanation of reasons behind some of the non-traditional ingredients. Like, I’m okay with adding cottage cheese to something, just tell me why I’m doing it.

Being fairly new to the Keto lifestyle and being crazy about ice cream, this book not only made me understand far better certain ingredients and how they are used and why. This is an easy to understand and implement.I am so appreciative for this book and recipes!Only thing I wish she had included was the serving size.JET

I love the pictures, but I don't care for how flimsy it is. The "book" will be covered in ice cream ingredients in no time. Tried the peanut butter with avocado oil recipe last night and it didn't come out creamy as ice cream should be. We'll try a couple more... so far, not bad, but not amazing.

Several NON KETOGENIC RECIPES! Bananas? Peaches? Cherries! NOT KETO! Another one of many trying to get in on the latest apparently and scam a buck or two! What a shame! This could mean someone's health when using the diet for fighting cancer or utilizing it to control epileptic seizures!

Great book to easily teach your kids, and to remind yourself, about God and the gospel! Full of scripture and has awesome, colorful illustrations. Super excited for our kids to grow up reading this book. Highly recommended :)

This is a great resource for teaching our children the gospel in a simple & direct way. The illustrations are thoughtfully done & also fun to look at. We like that it has scripture references after each catechism.
