I was diagnosed with Lyme in 2006 after suffering for over a year from a plethora of symptoms including dizziness, brain fog, memory loss, leg pain, body aches, insomnia accompanied by constant tiredness, inability to focus on conversations, muscle control issues - it was horrible. I seriously thought I was dying - or at the very least was suffering from early onset Alzheimer's disease. My family spends a month each summer on Nantucket Island - a hotbed for Lyme. After first noticing symptoms in August 2005, I went to my doctor in Michigan and asked for a Lyme test. It came back negative - and I did not finish an antibiotic regimen that my doctor had started me on preempetively. She told me to stop taking the antibiotics when the negative result came back. BIG mistake. By the time I realized what was going on, it was the following August, when I noticed a huge tick bite after returning from Nantucket. Again I was tested for Lyme and this time, it came back positive immediately. When I figured out what had happened, and realized I'd had the disease and it had gone untreated for over a year, I was petrified. Fortunately, my brother-in-law suggested Mr. Buhner's book, Healing Lyme. I can't say I was a big believer in herbal and alternative treatments at that time, but I was desperate so I decided to give it a whirl. Within 10 days, my symptoms began to disappear. I could NOT believe it. But it is the truth. I followed the appropriate regimen as directed by Mr. Buhner for almost a year before weaning myself off the herbs. It has been 7 years now, and although I did have a couple slight reoccurrences of symptoms within a year of treatment - I now believe I am cured. Healing Lyme was my bible. The book is so filled with important - ESSENTIAL - information about Lyme disease that many doctors are simply unaware of even today. I have recommended this book to many, many people. and just did again today - which led me to write this review. The book has incredible comprehensive information not only about the treatments, but the disease itself. Thank you Stephen Buhner. I feel as though you saved my life!! If you have Lyme, think you have Lyme or are just interested in learning about the disease - this book is an absolute MUST.

I was diagnosed with lyme about 10 days after I removed a tick 2.5 months ago (positive blood work). Both my general doctor and infectious diseases specialist were vague and dismissive about what was happening and prescribed doxy for 21 days and left it at that. Symptoms eventually decreased but were still present after the doxy and the specialist said that it would take months for me to feel normal again.I then knew I needed to figure this out for myself and with so called lyme literate MDs significantly out of my budget (not being covered by insurance), I started on an herbal method of treatment after some online research but nothing has quite put everything into context like Buhner and Healing Lyme. I have been on his protocol for about a month.Some say the description of the pathology in the book is too detailed, I agree but I think it is a GREAT thing. The gaps in understanding about lyme make this disease very scary. My body is not the same anymore and there is zero understanding in conventional medicine about why and how to fix it. While the debilitating symptoms have cleared I still have residual issues like decreased vision, low energy, nerve damage, and no physical stamina anymore (I am 32, vegan, was pretty active before lyme). Hopefully the protocol clears the bacteria out of their hiding places for good. At least I understand what is going on, thanks to Stephen Buhner.

Thank you for what you have done for mankind! i believe this is one of the plagues in the book of Revelations." it clearly states that there will be no cure and to use the leaf for thy medicine" which is what you have urged us to do in your book Ibeen on the Lyme journey with severe Neuro Lyme into my spine as well- I don't test positive according to I genex labs- but I always thought I had it after getting mites and having several bullseye rashes in which I went my my md and told her I thought I had gotten infected with some sort of parasite and she told me it was in my head and if I had Lyme I would know it and would not be able to walk... Well after three years and over 200k in medical treatments that did not work and 3 visits to the ER i thought i was dying, no one believed me! i lost everything i owned including my business but never ever lost HOPE! Thank you Jesus! Thank you Steven Buhner! God bless all that are suffering!

If you or a loved one has ever had Lyme Disease (or its co-infections), please purchase and read this book. Buhner provides a thorough compilation of plant-derived treatments for an incredibly debilitating illness. I first contracted Lyme Disease in 2005 and had two re-infections; the supplements suggested within this volume have been nothing short of miraculous in combating the pain, depression, cognitive impairment and other symptoms that accompany Lyme. Prescriptions and practitioners of traditional Western medicine are for the most part woefully inadequate in treating and HEALING Lyme. I feel it's important to note that this book can be of great help even years after an infection. If you have been ill for a long time due to Lyme, you may not even remember how it feels to be fully functional. You *can* regain a better lifestyle.

This book is a great starting point for anyone struggling with Lyme Disease. When I was diagnosed, this was one of the first books I read. It was tremendously helpful in broadening my knowledge about a topic that is interestingly controversial. Buhner's approach to treating Lyme with herbs offers a solid alternative for those who been turned away by the medical community, or those who simply cannot afford care from a Lyme Literate Physician. Given the recent release of an updated version of this book, I would look at the more current edition as it will no doubt capture and explain the latest developments in Lyme treatment. For those of you battling this terrible disease, my prayers are with you.
