Mary L. Barrow has been an attorney for more than 30 years. She has a BA from Brown University and a JD from the University of Pennsylvania law school. This is a book to read when you are getting ready to meet with an estate planning attorney to plan your estate for the first time. Those looking for complex strategies should look elsewhere.

Easy read, and full of information. Unfortunately it doesn't discuss taxes, which I thought it would. But from a planning perspective I'm very glad I read it and feel that I learned a lot.

This book was helpful to me. It was well written and easy to understand. I definitely learned a few things, however, I think it could have been more comprehensive. For example, it discussed revocable living trusts, but did not even mention that there are irrevocable living trusts as well. I will need to purchase and read additional books before hiring an attorney for my estate planning.

Book gives a good overview of estates without being verbose. If you’re looking for details and depth to the subject, this is not what you want.

Very helpful, very practical guide to an important subject. I learned a lot from this book. It is reader-friendly, which cannot be said of other books I've read on the same subject.

This book seems to cover everything at a basic level. I did learn that my dad and I had made an error in adding me to his bank account.
