The first thing that struck me when a copy of this book arrived through my letterbox was how thin it was. As a professional underwater photo-journalist & author who specialises in shipwrecks, I am also a shipwreck historian and, therefore, well aware of the shipwrecks to be found in Bermuda. This book does not do justice to those shipwrecks at all.Bermuda Shipwrecks is a paper-back book measuring 9" x 6" (23cm x 15 cm) containing 72 pages. With 10 of those pages taken up with such bumf as title of the book (again), fairly ordinary foreword (much of which is repeated on the back cover), acknowledgements, something about the authors, index, how to use the book (which in this case means reading it!) and how to order more copies (as if!), there is precious little room for the details for which we purchased the book in the first place.The book's cover calls this work "A vacationing diver's guide to Bermuda's Shipwrecks" but it is not even that. Any diver operating anywhere in the world will require diving information and in a number of cases this is wholly non-existent. In others it is less than two lines.With much of the text punctuated with Teddy did this and then Teddy did that (a reference to Teddy Tucker (who wrote the foreword)) one is left wondering why Teddy didn't do the one thing he should have done - and write the book in the first place. Doubtless it will be called "The Adventures of Teddy!"In brief, this is book of short stories about how many of Bermuda's wrecks were lost - and 'lost' is the right word for this book when it comes to detail.Not worth the cover price.NM

Awesome book for the diver planning to travel to and dive Bermuda. I read numerous books before I travelled to Bermuda but this was the only book I took with me. Very informative and helped me to plan my wreck diving for the week.

THis is a great beginners book if you are looking for dive sites for all different ability divers. It gives a great little synopsis of all the dives in the area. We have been there twice and it is great!!! Very helpful book. Thanks A+

If you are the type of diver that likes to know the background on your wreck dives then this is for you. The history behind the ships and wrecks is very well laid out. Its a good tool to have if your going to dive the wrecks in Bermuda.

I loved Jonathan Scott's "Big Cat Diary" so this book was especially wonderful as it seems to set up some of the history of the animals who star in that series. It is written in a style that is reminiscent of old "adventure" books about safaris and the wilderness. The writing is so evocative at times that it actually made me cry -- especially at some of the sad details about the very hard lives animals lead in the wilderness. A beautiful literary trip to a beautiful place on earth. I will treasure this book.

This book was not only well written, it also took me back to the most fabulous place on earth... the Maasai Mara. Anyone who has been there should read this captivating life of the Marsh Lions. I found it to be educational, enjoyable and a perfect escape from the reality of today in our "civilized and crazy" world.

THE most insightful animal book EVER. Thought I knew much through my art and support activities. This remarkabke book provides an entire new level. A beautiful, sometimes heart wrenching story. Many books 'pass through' my library; Marsh Lions will remain forever.

I read this over one weekend. Having just come back from Kenya I needed a fix: something to take me back to the Mara. This book did just that. It's an inspiring, sometimes sad true account of a pride with fantastic pictures and excellent narrative. Perfect for anyone who wants to learn about the life of lions.

Great read! Couldn't put it down. If you love Big Cat Diary this book is for you!

It's a collection of the most tuneful and nostalgic songs of the American WW II, from The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy Of Company B, to tear jerkers like I'll Be Seeing You, and The White Cliffs Of Dover. The songs are not all war-themed; I'm loving that songs like Sentimental Journey, and That Old Black Magic are included too.There are pages of photographs and history that make this a fun book to just curl up with and read. I love this book for the lovely music, the guitar chords, and the fairly easy piano accompaniments.If you're a singer, a pianist, or just love a stroll down Memory Lane with the Greatest Generation, this book is for you!

It was fun playing these World War II songs that I heard many times as a child. It brought back wonderful memories of my family members, now long passed, as they sang and danced to this music. Thank you for making this collection available.

A wonderful collection of times gone by.....the ladies and gentlemen in the nursing home dance to this music as I play the piano....and they are all very happy to re-live their teen-age years.....there are lots of beautiful songs to choose from as well!

I bought this for one song in particular. Part of the book is dedicated to the times of WWII and will be a boonfor anyone who loves that period. I found it TOO nostalgic and emotional. Will copy the one song and give thebook to anyone who wants it.

Though Jason Frye calls the coast of North Carolina home, his heart is with the mountains. I ordered this for vacation planning this year and it's been very helpful. Broken into sensible sections and is very comprehensive. Glad I found this resource. Also like the size. It will be easy to take with us. I like the fact that it's written by someone that is obviously very familiar with the area.

I had been a regular buyer of the Lonely Planet travel books. But more and more often, i am finding these Moon series travel books to have a very helpful balance of detail and organization. For each of our past three destination vacation trips we ended up buying and using Moon series books for each of the national parks, and they were very helpful.

This book contains very helpful information. We are making our trip in a couple of days, so I cannot verify all the content as yet, but the book reads very well, and has helped us prioritize how to make the best use of our time. The color photos and numerous maps have allowed me to orient myself ahead of time, and the book is divided nicely into very helpful categories. I would highly recommend this book if you have never been to the Smokey Mountains and are planning a trip.

These Moon books have served us well for trips to the National Parks! They have tons of concise information with lots of photos and tips. Wouldn’t go without one.

We own a vacation rental property near the Smoky Mountain National Park. I purchased this book to keep in the cabin for our guests to enjoy. I think they will love it! Thank you!
