I thoroughly enjoyed getting an inside look on Lily Collins and what has brought her to where she is today. I enjoyed her frank and upfront perspective on the good and bad times of her life thus far. I always enjoy learning about someone’s personal story and I admire her for being brave and sharing her innermost thoughts with her readers.A few of my favorite quotes from the book:‘Let’s proudly share our quirks. Be you and embrace your differences as things that make you unique and special. “Different” shouldn’t be considered confusing, negative, or something that divides us. It should be a quality we applaud and admire within ourselves and others.’‘I want to look as strong as I feel. And in order to do all of that, I need to live my life for every moment and be truly present, not worried about things that are out of my control or trying to control everything within my power.’‘I’m not getting any younger, and the sooner I accept my story for all that it is, and let go of the shame, regrets, and fear surrounding my experiences, the sooner I can just live, love, and be loved.’

Book is sooo good I couldn't put it down I finish the book in 1-2 hours. It's nice to get to know lily on a deeper level and connect, felt like I was catching up with for a cup coffee.

This was really mind opening and inspiring, I really appreciated and enjoyed all of it, every word and every chapter was so organic and real. I feel really connected to Lily as a person no this was a really great read. I feel more at peace with my body and more ambitious with my life. I feel excited.

I have always loved Lily Collins and how she's constantly trying to find a way to reassure all of the teens and young adults out there that they're not alone, that even celebrities struggle with the same things as they do. She's been quite the role model of mine and is so real and personal throughout the book. I also recommend the audiobook if you're more keen on having a friend chat with you instead because she does, in fact, make you feel very included.

Heartfelt. Genuine. Brave. Inspiring. I am glad that I picked this up and read it. I felt like I was reading the pages of a well written journal.

LOVE!! I LOVE Lily Collins and her stories are so relatable. The quotes in between the chapters is a wonderful touch to such a great book. Thank you Lily for showing your fans that you are indeed just like us and that being a celebrity doesn't stop you from having experiences like us.

As a reader, one of the things I dread the most is the end of a beloved series. So when Deep arrived on my Kindle, I was hit with so many conflicting emotions I wasn't sure what to do. On one hand, I was dying to open it up and dive right in- so what if it was already late evening, sleep is overrated, right? On the other hand, I knew I was going to be saying goodbye to the Stage Dive family at the end of the book and I wasn't ready. Of course, desire to find out all the details of Ben and Lizzy's journey to this point in their lives that Kylie had been tantalizing us with for months won out and I settled in for the ride. And oh what a ride it was!We get to see the moment that started it all through Lizzy's eyes when she sees Ben in person for the first time along with all the important moments leading up to those 2 pink lines staring back at her. Poor Lizzy just went from being a carefree 21 year old college student to an emotional hormonal young woman trying to wrap her head around the fact that in less than a year, she is going to be responsible for a living breathing tiny person. She has no idea how any of her friends or extended family will react, much less the big man and baby daddy himself.Ben gave it the ol' college try to honor his promise to Mal to stay away from Lizzy but we can see how well that worked out! Although he was the king of mixed signals, he was no match for her persistence. Once they were both in Sin City for the Mal and Anne wedding extravaganza, the tension had built up to the breaking point until there was no turning back. Now he is completely lost on how to proceed- and can I just say drunk Ben is adorable? If things go south for Stage Dive, David could have a second career option in wrangling big drunken goobers since Mal and Ben have given him plenty of practice! Ben adheres to the time honored tradition adopted by so many over the years when faced with unpleasant or unexpected info: deflect, deny and hope it resolves itself. Mal's reaction was unexpected as well and as much as I love him, I kind of wanted to kick his ass for it. Who would have expected Jimmy to be the voice of reason in the madness? Yet he had a few heart to heart moments with Ben that left me melting over the elder Ferris brother yet again. Fortunately those moments effectively broke through the granite skull and epic wall of denial the bassist had built up.Ben and Lizzy are a hot mess as they try to figure out what the future holds for them, but they muddle through. Lizzy is just as funny as any of the other Stage Divers’ ladies, and Ev, Anne and Lena bring her further into the inner circle with ease. Of course not everyone is happy to see Lizzy in Ben’s life- anyone remember Martha, Ben's sister, from Lick? She’s baaaaccckkkk and she is still an epic b**ch! Steadfast and loyal bodyguard Sam has a few choice words for her, and it was wonderful to see her put in her place. There was also a fabulously funny and fitting moment between Martha and Lizzy in the delivery room that had me in stitches. The baby’s name had me gasping out loud though- that poor child would have seriously hated Ben and Lizzy for the name if kids still had to write out their names by hand with a first, middle and 2 last names that made for pretty lengthy but fitting moniker.Speaking of Sam, he played a larger role in Deep than he had in previous stories but he kept Lizzy sane at times through the madness of life on the road, and it was great to see him interacting with her on a more personal level than we have seen since he came into Ev’s life in Lick. Vaughan, the bassist for Stage Dive’s opening act Down Fourth, was a wonderful character as well. He starts out hitting on Lizzy until he realizes what is up, then settles in to being a friend and supporter particularly when she needs it the most. Vaughan definitely made me all melty and I am hoping that Lizzy will play matchmaker for him in the future.Although I am so very sad to see this series end, Deep was a great story that delivered everything I have come to expect from Kylie Scott’s books- humor, heat, drama, heartache, and did I mention humor?? This may be the end of the line for the Stage Dive series books, but Ms. Scott has indicated they will make an appearance again in the future and I will be eagerly waiting. Vaughan’s story is up next and I really fell in love with him in Deep so I can’t wait to see him find his happiness!!

I was really disappointed with this book. I kept on reading and hoping that it would get better but it didn't.****Spoilers in my review, so please read at your own risk.****I didn't like Liz and Ben at all. I didn't like that Liz had to do all the chasing. Every moment of the book was her chasing until the very end. I couldn't believe that Ben had any real feeling for Liz at all. With everything that he said...not wanting a relationship, not wanting his life to change, not wanting to get married...the list goes on and on. After a while I just wanted Liz to get a clue. The guy doesn't want this relationship. Hello...he completely ignore her after finding out she was pregnant and talking to her about it. Then he did it again when she went on tour with them. Then it f came down to lame text messages. Then finally at 70% he admits to having feelings for her but I just didn't believe it. It wasn't convincing at all. Then at the end finding out about the contract he had the lawyers draw up and having it on him but not giving it to her. I mean...come on. I didn't feel the connect at all and their relationship just didn't feel right. Loved the other books in the series though, just not this one.

Deep was Kylie Scott’s fourth book in the Stage Dive series.Ben Nicholson was the base player for the famously popular Stage Dive band. He was the sexy, funny, carefree, laid back playboy. He loved music and his entire life revolved around playing music. He was the only remaining single member of the band and he had no intentions of ever settling down.Elizabeth “Liz” Rollins was the sister to Anne from Play, book two. Once Anne began dating Mal, Liz was thrust into the band inner circle. The moment she laid eyes on Ben, she seriously crushed but Ben was a one night only guy so they had their one night and she avoided him ever since, until she was forced into his world again.I loved how Scott started in the present but then moved to the past for several chapters catching us up on Ben and Liz’s interactions that paralleled with her sister’s story in Play. Scott then kept us in the present while the storyline built.Deep was told with a single POV, Liz. I loved Liz’s strength and humor, but didn’t like her weakness when dealing with Ben. She lost some of herself when they weren’t in sync and I much preferred her bantering confidence. With Ben, I loved the potential of Ben but didn’t care for him in most of the story. He was a runner and I wanted to throw my kindle at him most of the time. I craved his real thoughts versus what I got from Liz’s perspective of him. With that said, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. It was well written and kept me turning the pages as fast as I could read.True to the series, Scott included all band members and their mates throughout the story. It added depth, dimension, consistency and humor to the storyline.Deep was the conclusion of the primary Stage Dive band members; however, it set the stage for a novella for Sam and the start of a spin off series, Dive Bar, involving Vaughn. Both are promises for more successful writings by Scott.

I was very disappointed in this book. I would probably give it a 2.5 stars.I loved the second & third book in this series (I don't really remember book 1). For some reason I couldn't get behind her still being into the "hero" when he was a jerk. Maybe jerk isn't the right word. He was just all about himself. His life, his schedule, his freedom. And she just irritated me with her desire to keep going after him. The only real redeeming moments in the book were the Mal & Anne or Jimmy & Lena moments. Otherwise, I would have just stopped the book & returned it.

This book is mainly for wills not trusts. The problem with most of these books on trusts is that they are not clear on exactly how to administer one if you're the Trustee. They say vague things like, "Send the trust documents to the bank with your ID." Or they say beneficiaries can vote to remove a Trustee. How is this done exactly? These books are too vague on the actual mechanics of how all this works.And no, you don't send the entire huge binder of all the pages of a trust to every bank or financial institution. When you're the Trustee, you use the Trust Certificate (a two-page document) but NONE of the books I've read including this one, points this out.It's like Trusts are shrouded in mystery. No one seems to have any idea how they work.

As an executor who is also a trustee for a testamentary trust, I found this book to be very helpful in its explanations of how trusts work from beginning to end. Even though I consult with an attorney and a CPA, this book helps to fill in the blanks and to alert me to situations I need to follow up on. It also helps me in handling day to day trust administration rather than paying an administrator to do that. While there are many books that deal with Living Trusts, very few that I could find deal with a trust being established out of a will.

I know each person purchases a book with certain expectations but I just don't understand any significant criticism of this one. My brother-in-law and I have been working on our wives' mother's estate and trust for over two months and this book tells us everything we've learned the hard way. Read the book - or do it yourself and THEN read the book so you can rightly chastise yourself for being a 'Dummie'!Need to figure out if you, personally, have the skill and patience to administer a trust without professional help? Read the book.Need to settle an 'estate' outside that trust and wonder if you can take those assets through probate? Read the book.Getting back to the rare but perplexing criticism of this book, I must conclude those individuals are looking for a one-page 'checklist' of things they should do. Anyone who has actually administered a trust or estate knows that's ridiculous. Each trust and/or estate is unique. The common-sense assistance this book provides will tell you if you should be doing this yourself in the first place. It requires patience and significant organizational skill. You'll never spend a smaller amount of money to determine your ability to do this and if you choose to, it provides a pathway.Highly recommended.

I would not recommend this - it does not cover the potential situations in enough detail.I purchased "The Trustee's Legal Companion", from Nolo Press, at the same time, and that is much better.

I wanted to be fair in my review. It was well written - but even so, was way over my head. I did pick up a few tips to help me as I was navigating an Estate for which I was the Executor, but unless you already have a good handle on this - hire an attorney. (No, I am not an attorney)

This book is amazing and a super easy read. Good not only to read cover to cover but to quickly look up valuable information. Estates and trusts are incredibly complicated this book breaks it down simply and keeps your interest. I should know for a C.P.A. Dealing mostly in trusts and estates.

Chaotic organization. Would be better if estate and trust information were separated and explained, rather than mixed. I bought this to help me understand estate planning and the book jumped back and forth from estate planning to trusts.The subject itself is confusing enough, but jumping between the two subjects tends to make it more confusing rather than easier to understand. This book did not do much to help me. It does not live up to it's title in my opinion.

I ordered this book because we were going through a tough time. Having the whole process opened up and explained cleared up the confusion. I like the book so much because it goes through everything from the professionals you will need to hire to the tax issues. I would recommend this to anyone who has to deal with a will. I admit the trust portion of the book did not apply to us but I am sure it would be an equal five star help for anyone doing that as well. It is nice to have a book to make a hard time a lot easier.

If the small, knit tight, well-educated and mostly affluent Parsis (which immigrated and settled in India) ever needed an eloquent and passionate spokesperson, they need to look no further than Rohinton Mistry. Born and raised in Bombay, where the majority of the Parsi community live, Mistry is a critically acclaimed, award-winning, internationally famous author. He now lives in Toronto, where he moved to in the early 1970s, and he uses his pen to explore and highlight the eccentricities, the culture, the heritage and the legacy of his own race. He also uses his books to condemn the political corruption and religious fundamentalism in contemporary India, one of the world’s largest democracies.That said, his third book, Family Matters, is perhaps the most universal of them, as it focuses on a domestic crisis of one family and how they cope with it. Although the book is set in Bombay in the 1990s, it could be anywhere in the world. It opens with the main character, Nariman Vakeel, already in the clutches of Parkinson’s disease. Nariman is the father of three grown children: unmarried and unemployed stepson Jal, quiet and unassuming; stepdaughter Coomy, domineering, bossy and pushy; and daughter Roxana. While the stepchildren live with and take care of him in an apartment in the spacious Chateau Felicity building which he has bequeathed to them, Roxana lives with her husband, Yezad, and two sons, Jehangir and Murad, in a newer apartment bought by Nariman, a fact that Coomy, envious and bitter, never stops pointing out.Perhaps it’s because the sprawling seven-room palatial apartment is rapidly degenerating, almost parallel to Nariman’s health, while their two-roomed small is relatively modern and newly purchased. Foreshadowing of the plot and imminent crisis is hinted at in the first chapter. Confined to his bedroom and bored, Nariman seeks solace in his evening walks, which represent to him "bustling life" and are "like air for starving lungs, after the stale emptiness of the flat." These walks are therapeutic, "magical" and enchanting like a circus or "a magic show." Using his umbrella as a walking stick, he saunters past the corner where vegetable vendors congregate and "their baskets and boxes, overflowing with greens and legumes and fruits and tubers, transformed the corner into a garden." And from "time to time" he bends to touch the "voluptuous onions, glistening tomatoes, purple brinjals and earthy carrots" as they "hallowed the dusk with their color and fragrance." He sees a man selling bananas and the "bunches were stacked high and heavy upon his outstretched arms," and at the flower stall, two men "sat like musicians, weaving strands of marigold, garlands of jasmine and lily and rose, their fingers picking, plucking, knotting, playing a floral melody…"He needs this time alone; he is a man haunted by his tragic past. In his youth he loved a woman whom he could not marry because she was not a Parsi and his parents would never stand for it. So he marries a widow with two children and even though they have a child together and he tries to make his marriage work, it never does. All their lives are ruined and he remains haunted by what could have been, should have been and what-ifs for the rest of his life. But walks mean that Nariman, afflicted with Parkinson and osteoporosis, could hurt himself seriously if he has a fall – a thought that is anathema to Coomy, who yells at him daily as she watches him prepare himself. She does not help him nor does she offer to accompany him on his walks. Several times he has come home with abrasions on his elbow and foreman and a limp. One day he breaks his ankle and, with it encased in a cast, he must depend on Coomy and Jal for his most basic requirements; they must clean, shave and wash him and, since they can’t take him to the bathroom, they buy a commode which they keep next to his bed.The smell of his urine, feces and the body odor is more than Coomy can bear. In a gesture both mean-spirited and cowardly, she deviously hatches a plan. She quickly bundles the old man into an ambulance and takes him to Roxana’s small apartment. Depositing him on a couch in their living room, which becomes his home for the next few months, changes the lives of everyone. They struggle, they grow, they learn and they endure. With painstaking detail, Mistry draws the conflict within each character: the guilt, compassion, family obligation versus desire for independence, and the building of human relationships. He also holds a mirror to the characters' consciences, so that they can acknowledge what they are and what they portray to the world.Family Matters triumphs because its characters are alive and because it captures the moods and conflicting emotions of three generations. This book further seals Mistry’s reputation of excellence and brilliance.

Having previously read this author's masterwork (in my opinion), A Fine Balance, I subsequently bought Family Matters. I enjoyed the book very much. I think his previous book was exceptional and Family Matters does not meet quite that same brilliant standard. Nevertheless Family Matters is an extraordinary moving and powerful work which I heartily recommend to anyone interested in complex characters and their relationships, the motivations that drive apparently selfish or unselfish behavior, and Indian life in general.If you are from a western nation you will find yourself immersed in a culture that is very different, and yet you will meet characters that reflect a full range of all too familiar attitudes. Family relationships are difficult everywhere, and most of us are guilty at some time of treating family members badly. If you read this book thoughtfully you may find yourself examining your own family in a new way.

I felt as if I knew these people intimately....on a visceral level. The richness of their lives, their routines, their individual struggles and sufferings, their deep love for one another.I was impressed with how similar we all are regardless of background, culture or religion...the value in tradition, ritual and history.Would that we could all see and embrace these deep, human connections rather than focus on our superficial differences.A beautifully written and deeply satisfying book....gentler, in a way, than the author's "A Fine Balance". I very much enjoyed them both.

This is a slow, patient, very delicately written book. The inclination toward the maudlin was saved by the superb writing. A very realistic portrayal of a family's attempts to deal with an elderly family member. No one is cruel, but they are tired, challenged, impatient, strained, and helpless. The elderly family member was once young and robust, who was the center of a young woman's obsessive love, and he experiences nightmares of shame and guilt of what happened to his beloved and his wife. His parents wanted to see him happy, and their insistence caused great unhappiness not just for himself, but for his wife, and his parents died before they could witness their destruction. What was so distressing at the end was how much the characters had changed - a good husband and father become a religious fanatic, very likely to repeat the errors that destroyed his father-in-law, that the good brother had come with good intentions only to now live in fear in his own home, of a good wife and mother who loses her husband to religious fanaticism, and all these observations by a clever little boy. It took some time to get into the book, but once you understood what was going, the book was very easy to read.

A very detailed book which I recommend for student involve in midwifery program.

I'm an American nursing student and bought this to shore up some of my education regarding the art of midwifery. This is a fantastic text, and like another reviewer said, I wish there was an American text that delivered this well.

The updated version of an excellent text. Clear and concise. I use this for teaching my nursing students OB skills. One of the best midwifery textbooks available at a very reasonable price.

This is what happens when two great authors decide to create a world together! One amazing adventure! I've had high expectations and they were all fulfilled. I absolutely loved this story!This is an incredibly exciting and suspenseful story situated in a gritty, unpleasant, old world overrun by vampires and pirates, and even worse - vampire pirates. I was glued to the pages from beginning to the end and I finished it in one go. And I should immediately mention the abrupt ending that left me in shock and dying for the next book. The characters are quite interesting, especially Lavinia, the main protagonist of this story, and the focus around which everything revolves. It is amazing how the authors slowly reveal her uniqueness detail by detail. Then there is Jameson, he is quite special as well. But Pierce, Lavinia's betrothed, is something else, a new breed of maliciousness and evil. He was without a doubt one of my favourite characters of the story. Fantastic villain who adds so much suspense to the story, well done.This is one of those amazing stories one just gets addicted to. It is not about the characters as much as it is about the story and the need to know what happens. Forget about romantic depictions of vampires and prepare to be horrified by them!  These are not standalone novels and they only make sense if read in order. Reading order is the following: Crimson Horizon (Blood of the Sea Book 1), Pale Horizon (Blood of the Sea #2), and Obsidian Horizon (Blood of the Sea #3) coming soon.

Wow, wow, wow!!!... A mind blowing start of a new, amazing series!!! 😍... Totally loved this book, the plot, the world it creates, the twists and truns in every chapter will keep you reading, Lavinia, the FMC, is so awesome, she lost everything, but her inner strength is so powerful, she keeps fighting and overcoming every obstacle in her way, but there is a mystery sorrunding her life, as she doesn't remember anything about her childhood and her late parents... And that ending... Will it be the answer at her strange condition???... Pirates, vampires, romance, friendship, loyalty, love... Can't wait for book 2 to continue this journey and find some answers!!! 🤓

I am in love with everything in this book. The only thing I wish, is that it was longer. I can't wait for the next book!Okay so why the 4 star? Well it has to do with the MC, I wasn't that big a fan of hers at the start of the book. I don't know, something about her, irked me, and it took me a bit to start to like her as the MC, and well as a growing major character of this book and future series. But outside of that, I loved the detail, the world building and I loved the way the story flowed and connected.This book was such a fun and engaging read, and I believe one that I have been waiting for. It kept my attention till the end and left me wanting more. I loved this start to a unique series about vampires, and pirates, and...wait for it...vampirates! The main character Lavinia finds out that the tales she was told as a child about blood-drinkers were true when her home is attacked in the middle of the night. With a little help from her crush Jameson, she flees from her island and tries to figure out a way to save herself and her new friends. I enjoyed that the book completed a full storyline but left me hanging a little in anticipation of the next book. Thank goodness the next book releases soon!

Omg wow!!!!!! Heather and Lela wrote an incredible book about vampires, pirates and hunters especially pirates as vampires!! The main female character Lavinia is a strong fearless woman!! Jameson all I can say WOAH!!!!!! The romance between them two is amazing and all the danger and mystery in this book makes you not able to put this book down!! The Cliffhanger ughhhhhhh!!!!

This book had a little bit of everything, vampires, pirates, vampire pirates, some slow burning romance, danger, mystery, heart-pounding action, and one unforgettable heart-stopping ending that left me craving more!Definitely a must read and thankfully there's not too long of a wait for the next one!

Holy cow I just loved this story!! Lavinia character definitely grew into herself the more the book progressed. Can't wait to see what happens between Jameson and her and how she grows more into herself in the next book. Most definitely left off on a cliff hanger.

I found this to be a good read. The world building was interesting and the twisty layered plot is intriguing, I just found it slow in some areas. The characters are ok, some are likeable from the beginning, others take a while to warm up to- at least for me.
